Should I have a will?
Everyone over the age of 18 should have a will. A will is the only way you can tell others how you want your assets to be divided after your death and can provide certainty for people who may depend on you financially, especially your loved ones.
Even if you only have a few assets, it is worth making a Will to ensure they are given to the persons you believe are entitled to them. If you don't have a Will, your assets will be distributed according to Intestacy Rules. These rules apply to everyone and do not take into account your individual circumstances or what you may have wanted.
A Will allows you to choose the person to manage your Estate after your death. If you do not have a Will, your assets are distributed by a court-appointed person who did not know what your intentions may have been.
So don't put it off for "one of these days", contact our friendly staff at EDDELBUTTEL LAW who will give you the right advice and ensure that your intentions will be protected and followed in accordance with your wishes.
